Messages of rememberence from the TTLG Community

When I first heard of Andrew's death I set up a thread in the TTLG community forum, where he was a well respected member. Here is what the community members had to say.

"I knew Andrew only through his well written, and well thought out reviews he wrote for the TTLG community. It was a joy to have known him, even just a little bit, as we shared a common interest. He enriched this community with his time and efforts, and I know I already miss his presence. "

"I also didn't know him at all except through his good reviews. Sorry to hear about his loss"
- Keeper of Metal and Gold

"We've lost a fellow taffer, and one of the very best and brightest among us."
- NoCokePepsi

"I can't believe it. Andrew was great. We corresponded for awhile and I don't think I've ever encountered a kinder mind with such wit and intelligence. His letters had such a genteel, even old-fashioned chivalrous quality that charmed me, though I was secretly pleased when I managed to get him to let down his hair a bit. This makes me very sad. It may seem a trivial thing to say but I had always hoped to convince him to review my Thief FM someday, or even beta test it, I would have felt honored, and confident he would have been straight with me. That chance is gone forever. I hope Andrew finds peace now."

"A great light has gone out."

"I didn't know him or the name, but any loss, especially such a respected one, is sadly felt by the Thief community. I offer my condolences and hope the Builder has mercy on his soul. Peace is the best reward, and I hope he finds everlasting peace in the hereafter."

"The man had brains. That much I gathered by reading his reviews. It's kind of ironic how this ended. Which is very, very sad. Andrew really was the best reviewer I've ever had the please to read at.

God I suck at this. Peace."

"It's a real shock for me...I've known him only through his reviews, like the most of us, and have read them all, even several times, just to spend some time on reading about my favourite game. Well, since I consider every single taffer on this board, no matter if we correspond or not, a friend of mine, it is a bad loss for me."

"Andrew Dagilis, the man whose reviews made me think I know nothing about Shakespeare's tongue at all. Even though those reviews were the only thing I could say I knew him by, he made me set out on a quest to work on my English until I could at least match him. I owe him that. Godspeed, Andrew."

"I am at a loss for words. Great talent has parished...talent that shall never be replaced. Since Looking Glass went away, great aftershocks of their death shake us. To me, the terrorist attacks fell into the category of post-Looking Glass. Andrew Dagilis's death is untimely and unnecessary. If only medicine could better tend for such a mind as he, then we would have many more great men than we do at the moment.

Protect his memory, and let his legacy live forever. "

"My deepest condolences I did not know him very well, but I do remember him. My thoughts are with his family and relatives. Godspeed Andrew Dagilis "

"I have known of Andrew's plight for a long time, and I had hoped he could return to us. But this is not to be, and his passing now removes an incomparable talent and light of reason from our community. "

"Some of his reviews were harsh, but he seemed a good man.

I didn't know or speak to Andrew, but his writing expressed his deep thinking. I felt he was both brave and harsh in some reviews, but very weel rounded in all. I believe he reviewed more FM's than any other taffer.

I'm not a religous person, but I hope wherever Andrew is, he's writing some reviews on something and doing whatever it is he likes to do, 'cause it'd be terrible for a guy like this not to. "

"Goodbye, Andrew. You will be missed"

"It is sad to hear of such a loss and I hope that he finds peace. My best wishes to all Thief Fans out there."
