Q: Where are the plans I'm supposed to find?
A: Take the north passage from the start point, go through the greystone cave (fig. 2). Continue east for as long as possible and eventually you'll come to a tunnel that ends at a large area with two bug beasts patrolling (fig. 3). The plans are in the book in the upper part of the tree.
