The boy Jack was one such - grateful when I freed him whilst unshining a bloated temple of its gold one stormy night. Though my seeming compassion was styled only for fear he'd rouse alarm, I did pity him a little, gave him provision, and set him up to go his own way. Indeed, he later took the name Midcoat from an old grey cloak with which I warmed him. Jack Midcoat, now a young man and loosed of Hammerite influence 'cept their flowery tongue, surprised me recently turning up with information for a job - my kind of job. I was cautious and unenthusiastic... till He said he'd worked as nightwatchman on Lord Drakon's estate - a retreat in the mountains.
Now Drakon was never a lord - but lorded himself round in grand style after adopting a dragon symbol as his crest to pretend some ancestral credibility. They say he even invented the surname because of a notion his forebears were blooded from dragons in the old world when both black, white, and even gold alchemy held sway. ... (more)

By: Jason Otto (Ottoj55) Plot Description: A few years ago Garrett broke me out of Cragscleft Prison, A couple years after that he helped me break Jenivere out of a rich noble's manor. Tonight Garrett is the one in need of a rescue. A job he was on didn't go to well and now the City Watch has him locked up. An average housebreaker would get a long stay in their dungeons for this, if they figure out that this is Garrett they'll execute him for sure. I've been here once before, but only saw the Holding Cells, so I'm not sure where the dungeon entrance in located. I got a map of the City Watch Station from a contact of mine who works in the City planning office, but the dungeon isn't shown on it either. I hope Jenivere will understand if I don't make it out, but Garrett needs my help. Breaking into a City Watch station is not my idea of a good time, but I owe Garrett big time. Additional Comments: This mission is set sometime between the events of Thief 2: The Metal Age and Thief: Deadly Shadows. The Mechanist order is gone, many of the Mechanist's have returned to the Hammerite Order or fled. The Mechanist technology is in disrepair without the aid of the brothers. Spare parts for Mechanist machines are bringing a nice price in Black Alley.

By: Norbert Navratil Plot Description: Yesterday I visited Perry to sell some goods and he told me about Rueben. Yes, Rueben was one of two the Downwinders leaders from whom I was to steal Lord Randall's Sapphire vase. Perry said that another shopkeeper, Ramien, had told him that Rueben had planned to visit Perry. When asked, Ramien would not disclose the purpose of the visit. Perry later learned that Rueben had nearly been caught by a Hammerite patrol near Perry's shop just two days ago. Perry believes that Rueben must have some big problems and might be hiding in the old cemetery near the abandoned mansion. Perry has asked for my help in finding Rueben and asking him why he wanted to see Perry. Additional Comments: Updated version of original FM Contest 6 winning entry

I hadn't seen him since my stint in Big "C" Prison. He told me of a new Bank and Trust operation over on Waterford Island. He said it was rumored to also be an illegal import house for Art, Jewels, pretty much any stolen goods from the Merchant Trade routes. Freedo said he'd sat himself down across from the old Bank and Trust and observed the local traffic going in and out many times; no big deal. It was just the usual bank business. But, the other day the local Count showed up, he went in, his carriage and onterage left, and he never came back out. When the lights went out for the night, and the night watch came on; where was the count? He had to be still inside, right? And what about this early evening curfew? And what about all the strange activity at the end of the alley behind the Bank? Interesting. This if Freedo remembered right, would be right up my alley. He would help out with a map of sorts, and any information on the area guards and such; for a small piece of the pie. All I could say was, "Bring me and Freedo here another pint. YO HO HO"!! Mythical accounts claim that Agamemnon wore the mask during the Trojan wars, and its powers are what prevented him from being slain by an arrow. Whether it has any real powers or not, it would surely be an incredible addition to her collection, so she endeavors to find it. And some extra baubles and trinkets along the way would also be nice.
