You've been travling for weeks ,and in the great FuruForest , you finaly find a nice place to relax from your journey ... But of course , you are out of supplies , money , everything ... The HouseKeeper agreed to let you spend the night if you do a litle snatch job for him ... There's a litle mansion further up the path , and he wants you to find a purple book which contents are filled with great wisdom ..... Also , you'll need some cash and new weaponsuplies .... Then return to WoodKey and goto bed :) Incase you're not tired , you could always listen for a while to the local Trubadur ....

By: Hengist Plot Description: A friend and fellow thief named Holman has been nabbed by the City-Watch and thrown into the Lock-up. Seems Holman heard the rumours about an old secret way leading from the Hammer Cloister all the way into Lord Binford's Manor. Holman had somehow gotten hold of a cloister key and was poking around when he got caught. Rescue him from the lock-up and see what he's got to say. If there really is a secret way... it's just what you've been waiting for.

Thanks to my informants, I know a lot about your 'activity' in our town and I have enough information to put you in jail for several years. However if you carry out what I'm going to ask you to do, I will burn all the proofs and forget about the whole matter. Several years ago, an evildoer named Virate has settled into the mansion behind the town. He used to be a Hammerite priest in the past, but later he got mixed up with the forces of darkness and was excommunicated from the order. Rumour has it that it's him to whom the army of the undead terrorizing the surrounding belongs. In the last weeks more and more undead could be seen and moreover people started to disappear under strange circumstances. In addition, I've received a message recently, that the Book of Forbiden Magic was stolen from secret Hammer library. There's no doubt that it was Virate who did it and I dare not think about all the evil he could commit with it.
Therefore I ask you to do what's inevitable: find Virate and kill him. Also find
the stolen Book of Forbiden Magic. It must be hidden again and protected against
villains like Virate. As a reward, you can take all valuables that you find in
his mansion."

He's not natively from The City, but my contacts lack the information about his original homeland. For a foreigner, he's in a surprisingly wealthy position, and he's a careful one, too. He has stored most of his wealth into the First City Bank And Trust. So, instead of the usual burglary, I'm thinking of blackmailing. My contacts tell me that Geller isn't really as pure as the driving snow, but they don't know the details. My plan is quite simple: break into his mansion, search for anything useful for blackmailing and take some of his wealth in the process...(more) Additional Comments: The story takes place between the events in Thief 1 and 2.

By: JIS Plot Description: There are two versions of Mine Shock, by JIS. Mine Shock for Thief 1 (this version), was distributed originally in incomplete form. It had a few bugs, and it could not be finished. A second version, for Thief 2 (called "MainShock T2"), is complete. The T2 version, based on the same map but with many extensions, has quite different game play. I recommend that you play both of them. A few of us were playing the original Thief 1 version and having some difficulties, which we were discussing it on the TTLG forum. With the original, there were no objectives. You could not save and reload because the game crashed. Garrett was invincible, which helped a little to get through it without saves, but still, nobody could get very far. Some exploration in dromed by Vlad Midnight led to the discovery that the mission had several areas that could not be reached. Vlad kindly offered to fix it up.
Thanks to JIS for creating his imaginative and fun missions. Thanks especially to Vlad Midnight for making this version much more enjoyable to play and true to the form of JIS. We hope you like it.

Before the mass exodus begins, you (an adventurous individual) take it upon yourself to make one more attempt to save the town. The way down is certain death...you must ASCEND the mine with the rope arrows provided to you. So, you parachute to the far side of the mining area...and your adventure begins.
