FAQ

Q)I am already Registered at TTLG, but my password and login do not work?

A) The registration process is separate from the rest of TTLG, and uses its own database. This means that you have to re-register with the Thief III Idea System to gain access.

Q) I wish to raise a new idea, how do I do it?

A) Choose the section corresponding to your idea, and then click the add new idea link on the left of the sidebar. Ideas HAVE to be checked by a moderator before other users can see them. Please bear in mind that if the idea has been raised already, it will be deleted.

Q) How do I work out what Ideas I have not voted for?

A) Filtering options have been included to allow you to see which ideas you have and have not voted for. To activate them, click on the link on the sidebar corresponding to what you want to see. For example, clicking on 'Filter on Unvoted Ideas' will sort any category you view unvoted ideas first, followed by voted for ideas.

Q) How do I view what vote I have given an idea?

A) Above the filtering options there is a statement, probably saying 'Votes Hidden on Idea List'. It is a toggle link. Clicking on it will show your votes next to the name of the idea in the idea list.

Q) I raised a point for an idea, and the screen says that I have added the point succesfully, but it is not shown on the main page.

A) You have to refresh your browser window to see any new points.

Q) I have voted on an idea, but my vote has not appeared.

A) You have to refresh your browser window to see any new votes

Q) I raised a point for an idea, but it is now missing. Where has it gone?

A) If you did succesfully raise the point, chances are it has been delete by a moderator. Check the Information on Moderation to find out why.

Q) When am I allowed to raise a point for an idea?

If you feel that your point adds another viewpoint to an idea, reveals a NEW plus point, or bad point.
Points are NOT intended to be used to voice strong opinon. i.e. whether you personally like the idea or not.

Information On User Levels

There are five level's of users in the system, each level grants different access rights

Level Zero: The user can only read the ideas in the system, they cannot vote on ideas or raise new points.
Level One: The user can read and vote on ideas, but any points they raise are invisible until they have been confirmed by a moderator.
Level Two: Standard Level of Access. User can read, vote, and raise points. Points automatically appear, but still await moderation.
Level Three: Trusted User, as level two user, but points skip the moderation phase.
Level Four: Moderator. Can do all the above as well as edit any post, idea, section.
Level Five: High Moderator. As Moderator, but can also view all user information.

As standard, all new users enter the system at level Two. If you proove that you can raise good points , then you will be upgraded to a level three user. This is simply to save moderation time. If you tend to post rude, or silly ideas, you may be downgraded in access. Such action will only be taken rarely and after careful consideration and consultation.

Information on Moderation

The system allows you to add points to ideas.

Everytime a user adds a point, it is added to a list that all the moderators can see. Moderators will from time to time browse the list, and then they either confirm, or reject your point.

Points should add another viewpoint to the idea, and should theoretically be as summarised and condensed as possible. If a point is not summarised, a moderator may edit it before confirming it.

If the moderators think that your idea is simply expressing strong opinon, or revealing nothing new it will be deleted.

A list of example points that will get deleted:-

'This idea sucks, no one likes multiplayer'
'This idea will come in useful.'

A list of example points that will get confirmed:-

'This idea is unbalanced, as so and so wrecks thieves chances of succeeding, and makes guards much more powerful.'
'This increase immersion for the player, allowing them to concentrate on the proper matter of playing the game'

Chacnes are that from time to time, moderators will make mistakes, please bear with this as they are only human.
