How to Enter

Each contest will have a set application time of two weeks. During this time anyone wishing to enter should e-mail me with the following details:

  • Name
  • Forum Name (if have one)
  • E-mail Address

By submitting these details you are giving permission for them to be placed on the be placed on the Entrants Details page. The day after entry addmission is closed several scenarions will be announced. You will then chose one of the scenarios and make a mission based on it within the next three months. For examples of the type of scenarios there may be see the Previous Contests segment.


Preparing Your Entires

Missions entered for the contest must contain all the standard mission files required for FM submission plus:

  • An entry.txt:
    The text should be set out as follows:

    • Mission Title: (mission name)
    • Mission Scenario: (scenario number)
    • Thief Version: (TDP/TG/T2)
    • Mission briefing (the same briefing as in the normal readme.txt)
    • Custom Textures Used: (list all custom textures)
    • Custom Skins Used: (list all custom skins)
    • Directory layout: (eg
        /name.mis
        /readme.txt
        /books/string.str)

    • COW scripts: (all COW scripts used)
    • Imported Files: (Names of any files imported from other versions of Thief)
  • All COW scripts used (if any)

Your mission must be Loader ready, optimised and unstripped.


Submitting Entries

When your mission is ready to submit you may do one of these things:

  • If the zip file is small enough you may e-mail it to me directly. You must get my permission before doing this.
  • Upload your mission to a site of your choice and e-mail your link to me so I may download it. This link should not be made public in order to maintain anonymity.

In order to maintain anonymity I will be removing all readme files before uploading the files to the contest missions area for judging. The entry.txt will remain in the zip. When judging is complete, the original, intact zip will be uploaded in its place.
