General Comments
The first mission submitted, it's also the most well-balanced of the three entries, combining solid interior architecture, good enemy placement, smart gameplay and even a plot twist and three secrets.

three secrets, a plot twist, an architectural layout that's generally logical and realistic, some items you must risk yourself to pickpocket, one or two nice pre-scripted events, a sitting guard, all this within the tight restrictions of the contest

Loot placement
|
3.5

the loot in the main party room is touchy to get (though fairly so), the other stuff is where it makes sense for it to be; lots of clumsy, absent-minded (tipsy?) rich people forgetting their jewelry in various places

I didn't encounter any important bugs; one or two tiny ones, mostly involving sound; the sitting guard stays sitting even when unconscious [though this might be an engine limitation]

a dead haunt rotting away in a secret room under the accountant's office of a brand-new building?; a heavily chlorinated pool finished with expensive wooden flooring?

never an unfairly placed one, but a lot of armed guards downstairs patrolling in small areas with little to protect

Extremely poor architecture

on the contrary, the natatorium's interior is quite well done, especially considering the contest's limitations

Enjoyable level, good AI placement. It also has a map and
compass which is none of the others did.

The locations all looked fairly similar and uninteresting,
expect for one of the secret's which I found which had atmosphere in

well as the optionional objective with the keeper which was great.

Mission plays well, but I found it to be a bit too easy on normal and hard. The added AIs on expert make it impractical to go in through the front entrance, but on the other two you can easily force through. The carpetting is quite prevalent which makes sneakign quite easy, and the lack of an alarm system means that you can chase down servants at your leisure. Despite this the mission is quite fun, and the plot twist is amusing (though predictable).

Atmosphere

Decor nice and suitable, and choice of actual architecture good. It works as a bath house with all the relevant rooms and sections.
|
| Immersion
|
7
|
Plaques, books, and general layout make you believe that it is a bathhouse. The teleporting AI helps to that immersion. I also liked the feeling on the streets outside - the guard on the other side of the wall was a nice touch which aided the impression that you had just sneaked your way through the streets to get there. Garrets voice comments where a bit clustered together but helped. Some more skullduggery would have helped matters though, and it still was a direct interpreation of the rules.

Nothing extremely novel, but some nice touches. The added guards on expert does add replayability. The same trick was used quite a few times to hide safes behind other items. The teleporting AI was effective for a brief scare but was easily dealt with.

Generally everything looked great. A few places, like the main foyer seemed to be a bit too plush for a public bathouse

Good implementation of AIs and effects. A few mistakes, I had an amsuing situation of a disappearing doubloon from my inventory whenever I refrobbed the door, and a light switch was out of phase to start with a light which meant u had to frob it twice. Nothing that grating though.
