Since the rent's due, this place seems as good as any to hit for some stuff to pawn off for the needed cash. I managed to get some information about the bank from a guy I know who used to bank there. He said most of the floors are marble, which means I'd better take some earth crystals. Also, all the lights in the place are electric, so water crystals would probably be useless. Good thing, since I'm out of them anyway. Finally, he said the front doors are always well lit, well guarded and well locked.... so I'm counting on being able to find another way in. The area around the bank is secured with city gates after nightfall, but that shouldn't be a problem for me. I'll slip over a wall as soon as it's good and dark...." Additional Comments: Don't be fooled by the title...this isn't a T1 mission enhanced with Thief Gold content. This is the updated version of an FM Contest 3 entry which has since been expanded and modified.

The story takes place between the events of Thief 1 and Thief 2; at this time the Mechanists were not widely known yet, although some of their earlier inventions - such as simple security devices - were already in use by a few nobles who could afford buying them. By: T. Nagy Levente Plot Description: I have no choice but to help him my darling. She is an idealist, she thinks the Town Guard can gain hold of the situation by some legal process. The fact is that we are two, and it isn't recommended to go outside after 9 pm. I would definitely be interested to know what happened to the owner of the warehouse. I'm sure something low-brow and altogether criminal happened to him. He hasn't left the business he worked for of his own free will. My guess is that he was dealt with by the Mechanists. Maybe he could be found in the warehouse, a prisoner in his own 'home', assuming they haven't silenced him permanently yet. But there is another greater problem than this. Lord Archer surely knows I was a crook and pickpocket before joining the Police. He bragged about having obtained evidence against me. I can't let it get into anyone's hands. It is also disquieting that he has formed an alliance with Ramirez of late.. or at least tries to. I have to take care of this mess quickly, without getting my hands dirty. But first of all, I have an appointment with Basso. He took a long trip to bring me those lockpicks. Sincerely, Garrett

Comfort from old wine cellars has been easy enough to find, and loot at the expense of my rich neighbors still pays the bills. Is this not the easy life I always wanted with no world in need of rescue? Lisha says this darkness descended on me when my old Hammer eye gave out. But what good is the new mechanical eye the Hammers have waiting for me? Even when I had two perfectly normal human eyes I wasn't any richer than I am tonight!
Yet, as I write this, I am beginning to feel a shift in the air ...and not simply the early Autumn wind I hear blowing like it can't wait to get home to Old Man Winter. Perhaps it's just another crazy dream, but something keeps saying that my fortunes are about to change ...that the BIG one is just around the corner ...where I'll finally know the true comfort and peace of mind that comes with becoming a genuinely wealthy man!

My first encounter with Sheriff Gorman Truart almost ended my Thieving career, nearly taking my life along with it. Fortunately I had some wits back then and turned the tables around, getting him eliminated swiftly and quietly from my life. Anyway, the bluecoats have been under a new management for some time now, a fellow by the name of Grillard Mckay took charge shortly after Truart's death. Well, it wasn't until recently that my good ole friend "Grillard" struck it rich and added some nice new fancies to the Training facility which he arrogantly holds under his command. The Bluecoat's Training Facility, located to the far north of the city is where new recruits go to train, too bad im not stopping by for that reason. The facility has always been open to the public and tours were even conducted to try and convince people to submit their lives to the miserable existence of guard life, a shame they still haven't persuaded me. However, a few months ago, their fearless leader decided to have gates installed and the place was permanently cut off from the rest of the city, and the public. Rumor has it on the streets that McKay didn't inherit his wealth lawfully, that he is earning his wealth through some kind of "illegal trade", and installed the gates to keep people from finding out what was going on. Personally, I don't like running on rumors, and seeing the unsuspecting captain is out of town tonight I am going to stop by to take a little "tour" of my own and hopefully dig up some useful information against McKay, ultimately eliminating the bluecoats from my life.... By: Timon Plot Description: These days, you can only be safe if you are dead. The almighty hand of the Capitula will reach everyone, everywhere, even the smallest and the best hidden. In fact, a huge part of the city starts begging in the streets as a way to survive. They are not considered citizens, but they live with us and they let us realize how rich and happy we are. Yet sometimes their existance does not suit to the city's image and its might. The meeting held by the Capitula was finally decisive. It was decided that the beggars will be shown the place where they belong - the dungeons and the worst parts of the city. They hit with great precision, today Timoteus was captured, a friend since the early years, today the King of the beggars. He was charged with the murder of the wealthy merchant from the fish market, called Bazil. Everything was stinking, Timoteus was accused of murder by Sheriff Norbert, the Capitula's favorite. Yet, not everything is lost, the chance to save Timoteus is to provide a good alibi. A full purse can do miracles, a well respected and and what's more important, a wealthy weaponsmith Michael will make an announcement tomorrow. He will claim that at the day of the murder Timoteus stayed in his small dungeon, caught when trying to steal his chicken. Two days later he escaped and demolished two barrels and some minor equipment on his way. Sounds hilarious, but only this kind of alibi and this kind of person can save Timoteus' head. Provide Timoteus who was arrested with the alibi, so tomorrow he can tell the judges during the trial what happened on this feral day. It's better that he is punished for stealing chicken, rather than for murder. Besides, the weaponsmith Michael will demand that the court lets him decide what the punishment will be and according to the local law he has the right for such a demand...... Fenwick was supposed to report back with details of the meeting last night, but as he failed to show, Sabrier is assuming the worst.

A recent trip to the museum archives - in the hope of locating a Hand of Glory, supplied you with some useful information: In the founding years of the city, sewer constuctors reported uncovering ancient tombs deep below the ground. Descriptions of these lost remenants of past civilizations lead you to believe a Hand of Glory might be aquired down there. Only one way to find out... Additional Comments: This mission was originally an Easter Egg for those players inquisitive enough to explore "Run thief...RUN: The Director's Cut". It was inspired by the "Cistern" level from the original Tomb Raider game by Core Design.
