By: SlyFoxx Plot Description: Briefing: My relationship with Lord Bafford has always been tenuous at best. Ever since that fateful night so long ago it's ALWAYS been a pleasure of relieve him of his baubles and leave him scratching his head as to how one man always seems to get the best of him. Ha! He can hire all the guards he wants. He can add Mechanist security machines. Been there. Done that. So when I heard he had just acquired a new summer home in the country...well you get the idea. The only problem is finding out where it's located. I was talking to Basso yesterday at The Stonemarket Inn and he suggested the nearby law office of Dewey, Cheatem & Howe as a good place to begin snooping. The firm has represented Bafford in the past and it's a good bet they'll have information on the new home and its whereabouts in case they need to contact him. I was busy last night with a lucrative contract so Basso offered to fill in for me. I guess married life is getting a little dull and he was looking for some excitement. I should have knocked him cold then and there for even suggesting it. I've said before that Basso's not much of a sneak. Turns out Basso was nabbed red-handed picking the lock of the law firm's door. Now he's locked in a cell in a nearby jail. Oh well...at least this time it's The City Watch that has him and not the Hammerites. No sense in waiting. It's time to begin.

By: Jani Saarijärvi (Spitter) Plot Description: Sheriff Truart has begun his personal vendetta against the City's crime element and I'm on the top of his Most Wanted list. Jobs have been scarce - although most of the fences would gladly offer me any jobs they have, the fact is that there aren't all that many of them around anymore. What comes to my thefts, I've been clutching at straws lately. Luckily one of my sources has dropped me a very... lucrative hint. After this job I can keep a low profile for a while. I've never been much in to organised crime. I'm in this trade to profit myself, and the idea of funding some lazy godfather figure pulling the strings in the shadows doesn't really seem all that intriguing, something that my old friend Ramirez had to learn the hard way. But, as they say, there's no honor among thieves... (More)

By: Maria Ström-Bestor (Morrgan) Plot Description: Some years ago, the mining town of Rodamill was devastated by an earthquake. Little is known about the event as the town has been cut off ever since - but it is believed the entire population perished, and that the wealthy estate of Greyfeather Hall lies buried with its Lord, the owner of the lucrative Greyfeather Mines. His brother inherited the mines following this tragedy and has now sold them to the Mechanists, who plan to excavate the town, mines and estate and to claim any salvage they find there. But, the new Lord Greyfeather wishes some heirlooms to remain within the family, things too valuable and too sensitive to barter with the Mechanists over. Hence, he has hired Garrett to recover these items with as little commotion as possible.
In the first part of the series, Garrett hitched a ride with a Mechanist shipment to Rodamill.
The shipment, along with its unexpected cargo, has now arrived at the ruined mining town.
Now, Garrett must find the mines and a way into Greyfeather Hall beyond them.

By: Yandros (Russ Robbins) Plot Description: As usual, the rent is due... but this time I also owe a few shopkeepers for some equipment I had to buy on credit, so I'd better go for a bigger haul than usual. There's a rustic little inn I've hit a couple of times before called The Burrick's Head. The decor is upscale, so there should be plenty of trinkets and valuables lying about... not to mention what the guests bring with them, which should be significant since the inn caters to the nobility.
As an added bonus, the papers the other day mentioned a noble
lady staying there who had just inherited a fortune. Seems the
estate includes a gigantic sapphire called The Angel's Tear. I'm
sure it's safely tucked away somewhere, but if the opportunity
presents itself, I'll have to go for it. According to the news story
it's insured for 50,000 crowns, so it would mean I could take a
few years off thieving and actually enjoy life for a while. That
is, if Cutty can find a buyer for such a well-known valuable.
But then, that's never been much of a problem for him before...

By: Ken Ramsley (frobber) Plot Description: It will be no secret that Garrett has returned to the great Hammerite cathedral, just as it is already no secret that the Oracle has sent him here. And it may not remain a secret much longer how Garrett must act to save himself – now that he has returned with the mysterious words of that Guardian still ringing in his ears. The antidote lies in reversing the order. And when you are successful, then all will be as it should have been. Once the destroyer has been destroyed ...the one who poisons you... and once you have acted in accordance with your own knowledge of the future, then all will be restored.
Yet the truest meaning of these words may remain shrouded in darkness for a time – how Garrett has been
given a power greater than anything ever given before – a power to alter what should have been, and by his
own thoughts and actions, a power to challenge the very nature of destiny itself.

TurnoftheTideWalk.htm TurnoftheTideLoot.rtf |
By: madwolf {Kevan Swain} Plot Description: I had a visit from an old guy called Marquez couple of nights ago. A collector of rare artifacts; he had a proposition for me. A radical sect of Hammerites had recently moved back into an long abandoned Priory in a coastal town called Finisterre and begun refurbishing it. This meant only one thing to Marquez. Finisterre has long been rumoured to be the location of the Builder's Hammer, Perhaps the most sought after of all ancient artifacts. Marquez would like me to 'acquire' it. Frankly I don't believe a word of it, if it's there at all it's probably a fake. The early Hammerites acquired many of these so-called 'One-True Hammers'. Still Marquez is paying good money just to investigate the rumour. A bit of sea air will do me good. Only one thing bothers me, Finisterre is notorious as a den of piracy, full of worst kind of highwaymen, smugglers and cutthroats. On the other hand I should fit in nicely. Additional Comments: Somehow this has turned into a trilogy without my intending it. Moth To A Flame loosely followed on from Skeletons In The Closet, Turn Of The Tide more obviously picks up the story again. There is however no real need to play the first two prior to this.

By: JIS Plot Description: There are two versions of Mine Shock, by JIS. Mine Shock for Thief 1 (this version), was distributed originally in incomplete form. It had a few bugs, and it could not be finished. A second version, for Thief 2 (called "MainShock T2"), is complete. The T2 version, based on the same map but with many extensions, has quite different game play. I recommend that you play both of them. A few of us were playing the original Thief 1 version and having some difficulties, which we were discussing it on the TTLG forum. With the original, there were no objectives. You could not save and reload because the game crashed. Garrett was invincible, which helped a little to get through it without saves, but still, nobody could get very far. Some exploration in dromed by Vlad Midnight led to the discovery that the mission had several areas that could not be reached. Vlad kindly offered to fix it up.
Thanks to JIS for creating his imaginative and fun missions. Thanks especially to Vlad Midnight for making this version much more enjoyable to play and true to the form of JIS. We hope you like it.

All was not to be plain sailing, however: the Inigo foundered in a storm 4 days out,

By: P Forth Plot Description: According to local rumour, the mechanists have acquired the Hand of Glory and are keeping it somewhere inside the mechanist cathedral. Tonight, most of the mechanist's are out of town at some convention or other, so there will be very few of them in the building. If ever there was a time to break in to the mechanist cathedral, this is it. It seems the time is right, for a bit of burglary. Additional Comments: This is just a small thief mission. Get in, get loot, get an item, get out. I was going to be a much larger mission, but due to real life stuff and other DromEd work it would never have got finished the way I intended it, so, better to release it as a small mission than not to release it at all,I thought.

By: Rostvogel (Igor Smikalla) Plot Description: When not long ago I travelled on the road to ... via the Rogokir Pass, I discovered a chasm in the ground which had opened behind the first embankment. This had to be the result of a little earthquake and the recently heavy rain. The cleft seems to be big enough for a burrik to drop in. Therefore it is sealed off. For further security a sentinel is deployed. The very sentinel had a conversation with one of the monks from the local abbey, who exchanged some stories of old for a noble sip of wine. And this I could not avoid to overhear: During wartimes the abbey was used as a fortress, in which not only the monks but also the royal family and the main part of the population withdrew from their enemies. Once the abbey and the surrounding facility had been much larger. But since when the armies of the underworld rose to earth's surface much had been destoyed and is sunken forever.... (more)

By: Troutpack Plot Description: I was contacted by a man with an interest in the occult. He's asked me to acquire a certain tome for him. Apparently it's an ancient book that deals with burial rites and things of that nature. The book was discovered at some ancient ruins by an old professor and it is currently in his possession. He has retreated to his cabin in the mountains to study it away from prying eyes. It shouldn't be too difficult to sneak in there and slip back out with the book. By: Jeremy Catlin (HipBreaker) Plot Description: Lately the Undead have risen out of their graves and massed what seems to be an organized army and are taking over the city. This can be a problem for you because what is the point of stealing when everyone is dead? So, a local Lord, Leonard Krauft, has gotten hold of an antidote for when anyone gets bitten by an Undead. You figure that this would come in handy and it is worth a lot, considering he is only selling them to the highest bidders. You also hear that a scientist discovered the reasoning behind the invasion, and that it may have to do with the recent comet that almost hit Earth. Starting in the almost over-run city, find out what you can and get what you need. The nearly abandoned city, either dead or running, could use your help, but in turn you need them to live as well. By: Speesh Plot Description: Delford Abbey is a small Church located in more of the outskirts of town. Their main source of income are some catacombs that stretch throughout different parts of the City. The catacombs are their main source of income, for they charge a lot to buy space down there. There had been some sort of cave in or something like that and they had to close it down for reapairs. But a few days ago, they reopened them. This is a good opportunity to get some loot, for the City watch are really on to me and it's hard make anything without losing it these days. Rumor also has it that in their area of the catacombs, one of the Master Forgers or something like that is supposed to be buried with a scepter. While I am in there, I am going to prove this rumor true or false. However in the few days that it has been opened, the undead have been getting restless down there. This has caused a quarantine from the rest of the city. This wouldn't be a problem, except the City Watch found all of my equipment. However the church is somewhat small and should not be a problem for me. Additional Comments: Requires Gaylesaver's scripts.

By: Frank Mitchell Plot Description: I had an easy job planned for tonight, meet Jersak at the Broken Barrel for a pint, split the loot we got from the Hightowne Museum job, and leave quietly out the back door. Unfortunately, someone must have tipped the Hammers off to my being there, because they showed up shortly after I did. So now I'm in a cell in some nasty little basement, and it looks like Jersak is in the cell next door. I've got no idea if he managed to stash the loot before he was nabbed, or if he was the one who sold me out in the fist place.
Guess it's time to get out of here, get some questions answered, and get my money back.

SoLongHammersLoot.rtf |
By: Ramirez Plot Description: I've been contacted by an old Hammerite priest this evening. In his letter, he mentioned that a special item was still hidden in the catacombs lying under the Church of St-Lazanar. Father Hendrick (that is his name) is after a book called 'The Builder's Last Notes'. Seems like this is the last things the Builder would have written down before leaving this world for another that He presumed was better. Anyway, what really caught my attention was that, apart from the book, there is also a precious gem named 'The Stone of Lazanar'. It's been a long time since I've heard of it, but reading that name reminded me how much it's worth. Additional Comments: English and French supported.

HornsofCanzo-PoorWalkthrough.htm HornsofCanzo-Snake-GhostWalkthrough.htm Other: Horns of Canzo Lootlist |
By: Sterlino Plot Description: It’s a quiet, mid-September afternoon and you, Garrett, Master of thieves, find yourself slowly remembering the adventures of the past in front of the fireplace. In your hand is a goblet of a fabulous wine taken from Lord Bafford’s cellar. In the midst of this restful interlude, you hear a whistle from the window followed by a thud...... an arrow is quivering in the frame with a message attached. “ We know about your recent success at Bafford’s manor. We have captured your friend Basso to hold for ransom. To free him, you must steal for us an artifact of an ancient and unknown nature. This precious thing is owned by a powerful Lord, who lives alone in a little fortress situated in a distant land named Italy. From the Map at the end of the text you will see what our problem is. The artifact’s name is “the Dragon’s Claw”, the exact location in Italy is the mountain of “the Horns of Canzo”,and the Lord mentioned is named Lord Kanfass. We are giving you 2 months to complete this mission. Remember that the fate of your good friend, Basso is in our hands. The sooner you bring us the Claw, the better it will be for Basso. Signed: the Brotherhood of Fire. It’s a long time to wait to payback the Brotherhood of Fire but you don’t want to go into their nest without the artifact, so you begin the journey to Italy. Then, after two weeks of difficult travel, you finally arrive and start planning the job. Canzo is a little village down on the lower part of the mountain with the curious name “Horns”. After a good nights sleep at “the Wild Boar” you look around you and see a strange thing! The people here seem to be more like you than those in your homeland. You then start to follow the main path to the nearest point beside the Horns... they are two particularly enormous rocks on the top edge of the mountain, which resemble a pair of animal horns. You, as always, check the map and see that the route shown will lead you to an infamous Inn, where you can find some information about Lord Kanfass. In the process, you can also find a way to fill up your, by now empty, pockets.

By: Istvan Varga Plot Description: "A week ago, Lord Ramsden offered me a job, that I refused - I did not want to get involved in his dirty business; that was not a lucky day for me, though: he already had plans on making use of me in a quite different, but still very profitable way, in case I do not want to work for him. When I was about to leave the pub where I met one of his men, several guards were waiting for me on the street; it was a well planned ambush, and I did not have much chance to escape." more Additional Comments: * Known problems * - The map does not always select the right page for the player's current location (but it is not supposed to be an automap, anyway); this can happen in the basement where the map of the southern area is displayed, even when the player is in the northern area, in fact. - When crouching and creeping at the walls of the lobby, it is possible to get stuck sometimes; try to avoid contact with the walls. - Patrolling guards may get confused around some patrol points - care is needed when following them.

By: Christine Schneider & fibanocci Plot Description: Lately, Dayport's administration has continuously increased the tobacco taxes on the grounds that the country has to accomplish duties and responsibilities and needs to ensure the capacity to act etc. bla, bla... But for all that, Dayport's city council is free with their spending. For example, they fund the Mechanists seminary generously. In the meantime, cigarettes are so high in price that no John Doe can afford them. On the other hand, nearly everyone in Dayport smokes and therefore there's a thriving black market. Slitty, Cutty's son, makes a living from smuggling cigarettes. The City Watch, Customs and Duty Dept., caught on to Slitty's business and put him in Cragscleft Prison to await trial. There are only a few days left before his day in court and for some nostalgic and sentimental reason, Garrett feels compelled to help Slitty, especially since Cutty died in this same prison. He can't let Slitty rot there only because of a few lousy fags. There seems to be only one possible way to rescue Slitty: Obtain legal packets of cigarettes with the official tax stamp on them, have them substituted for the black market ones in the evidence locker of the City Watch and then wait confidently for the court case. This fellow was really nervous, looking left and right the whole time as if he were being pursued. Anyway he offered an interesting job - the most interesting part was the 5000 in advance! Other: The mission has a re-compressed briefing. If it does not play, grab the original briefing above. |
By: Toni Hollming (Trimfect) Plot Description: "Remember when that Thief Garrett stole the scepter of fat Lord Bafford? Well I have a place for it in my circle, and I need you to go get it for me." -Master Nightfall Additional Comments: The original GatB was released on June 10th, 1999. Coincidentally, the CoSaS Project remake of this mission, Gathering at the Inn, was released one year ago to the day from this posting, on February 11th, 2003. The re-release of the original GatB for T2, converted by James Desiderio, is for mostly nostalgic purposes, and so that possibly those who only own Thief 2 may look GatI's humble beginnings.
Thanks for reminding us, Jimmy. :)

By: Komag (Ben Ramsey) Plot Description: A woman named Victoria has offered me a job to steal a sword from a nobleman named Constantine, but in my preparations for the heist I heard word of a giant tree with valuable magical healing fruit which grows in Constantine's orchard. I've decided to put off the sword job for another night, and steal into the high wall orchard to grab some of the fruits for myself, as they will probably bring in a pretty penny on the street. Basso has supplied me with a basic map he drew from information he bribed from an old guard who somehow used to "work" there - in a tree? Anyway, since I've heard the tree is rather huge, I'm glad the Keepers made me master the art of the rope arrow, which should come in quite handy on this little adventure. Additional Comments: This is a conversion from the original T1 mission; an update, not a remake from scratch.
