By: MaJiC (Mark Cole) Plot Description: With the Mechanists finished after Karras's failed plot, their collection of arts and treasures at the Tower Gallery in North Quarter has been sold off to wealthy nobles across the city. Only one piece remains: the portrait titled 'Father's Pride'. Thankfully it's one of the most valuable paintings in the City and now it should be one of the easiest to steal because the Mechanists have moved out of the Tower Gallery and its surrounding fort leaving only a small group of poorly paid guards.
An old 'friend' of yours, Annie, is seeing one of the guards, Kenny, and has
aquired a map for you. Kenny is on front gate duty tonight and, knowing he likes
his drink, she has delivered some 'special' wine to him which should have him
snoozing like a baby by the time you arrive. On her last visit to Kenny she
smuggled in and hid your bulkier equipment so that you don't get any unwanted
attention on your way to the Gallery. And all she asks in return is that you don't
kill Kenny. Well, that plus twenty percent of your haul! ... (more)

By: Tumbleweed (William Hollingsworth) Plot Description: "I wonder if he reads them, if if they're just for show..". There's some strange fascination that nobles have with books that I can never quite understand. Maybe it's because they think we commoners can't read them and it makes them superior, in my experience it's just that "nobles" never pass an opportunity to just make it clear who's got the cash and what better way to do it than to spend it something so impractical. Anyway, it turns out my old friend Lord Bafford is seeking to expand his collection, going for quality over quantity. He's getting all kinds of rare tomes from across the lands and is having one especially delivered from Lesser Hrabota. The merchant doing the transaction is staying at the Dancing Clayman inn at Lower Eastport tonight with the intention of delivering it tomorrow. However, a well paying client of mine has also expressed an interest, and I wouldn't want to dissapoint.
I wonder if Lord Bafford has ever seen the inside of a Keeper library..

Comments by Reviewer: Review by OliG Pros: Cons:
Bottom Line: This mission is excellent in all respects, but it’s relative shortness and the lack of a strong plot just stops this one hitting the top. Tumbleweed - you’ve surpassed yourself.

By: Isaac Kopecky (golem8) Plot Description: You were contacted by a woman named Angela who said she had a business proposition for you. She asked you to come with her, and, knowing better, you did. She led you to a shady part of town and into a back alley where a dark figure was waiting. "Garrett?" the shady fellow asked. "Yes, it's me. What do you want?" you replied. "I see you've met my girlfriend, Angela. I am Isaac, master thief. And I have a proposition for you. I intend to break into Lord Kauer's estate and steal his prized fork and spoon." "You dragged me all the way out here because you want me to steal some guy's silverware?!?" you asked furiously. "You don't understand, Garrett," Angela interrupted. "Lord Kauer's fork and spoon are prized rarities: simply put, they're gigantic. Who eats with large silverware? They have to be worth millions!!" "Hmm, maybe you're right," you replied thoughtfully. "Just where is this Lord Kauer's mansion? And what's the plan?" "It's in the north part of town," he quipped. "Now here's what we'll do: Lord Kauer's going to have a party tonight. Angela will go in dressed as a party guest. She'll be our inside contact. I'll sneak in from the roof, and you sneak in from the basement. We'll all meet in Lord Kauer's kitchen at midnight. Then, Angela will blow open the safe with a magical spell-"...(more) Additional Comments: FM Contest 4 entry

By: Mark - (AsyluM) Plot Description: Living in the city has become somewhat difficult since the death of Karras. The Mechanists know who killed him and have been trying everything in their power to kill me. But I was in the city before the Mechanists were formed and I'll make sure I'm here after them as well. The Mechanists have a newly built seminary in the New Market district. It stands on the grounds where an old Hammerite temple used to stand, which mysteriously "fell" into the ground about a year ago. Rumour has it that when the Hammerites went to investigate what had happened the Mechanists had already sealed off the area. ... (more). Additional Comments: This is my first completed FM, the level is a large Mechanist based mission. The story takes place a while after Thief 2.

By: Dark Angel Plot Description: About a month has passed since the Trickster's demise. The Hammerites, seemingly very pleased with your recent work, decide they have another task for you. A Hammerite priest has told you about a holy scepter which has been left in an abandoned cathedral some decades ago. He wishes for you to retrieve it for him. But finding the scepter is only half the job, once found it must be blessed in a special holy pool, which is said to be located inside somewhere.
A simple job for a master thief such as yourself, not to meantion a lucrative opertunity. Be warned though, the priest didn't bother to meantion that the place was haunted.

Lucas didn't finish translating it before Roland stole it but it should come in handy. You hopped a Mechanist train for a free ride to the excavation site and jumped out before it came to a complete stop. By: Saturnine Plot Description: Purah here, that's Pur (like a cat) ah! (like a good idea). I'm at the Saturnine Mansion this evening and let me tell you, the circumstances of my inevitable leaving are indeed bittersweet.I'm afraid I've just run through the place and made quite a mess (boots tracking snowmelt and such)—and its probably best if I'm not here when the lord of the house gets home. Hence I'm going to be quick about this here introduction. The Seventh Crystal has finally arrived. And yes, I'm a happy beta tester.I won't be giving much away if I say its a cold winter's night in the city. And I'll only be telling the truth if I say you haven't played a dark and forbidding mission until you've played the 7th Crystal.

By: Paul Buckley Plot Description: Letter from Layne to Garrett, To my friend Garrett, There is a general feeling of unrest in Karrassina, the unified factions are at breaking point as each tries to obtain their share of control in the city, a civil war is not out of the question. Amidst all the political unrest there are rumours tearing through the underground regarding a new unknown force, a new threat that has been brewing in recent times. It surely not the Mechanists as they are but all gone, those that remain are now part of the unified coalition of Karrassina along with the Hammerites and the City Watchmen. No coalition members claim to know or admit to knowledge of who or what is behind these rumours or if they are true. (more) Additional Comments: The sleepy city of Karrassina lies beneath the level of the sea and is situated upon land reclaimed from the central oceans by the mechanists before their timely demise. Since the end of mechanist rule, Karrassina has undergone many governmental changes and Karrassina is now governed by 'The Unified Coalition Of Karrassina'. The city has only recently regained its political stability and a degree of law and order is now in place. Karrassina is populated mainly by the very wealthy and the very poor, there is nothing much between. The two are segregated by the city guard who enforce peace in Karrassina as the rich look to steal from the poor to give to themselves.
