By: Duncan Cooke (The Deceiver) Plot Description: Garrett is holed up in an old Keeper safe house. His activities in his local part of the city has drawn him too much unwanted attention. He is now low on funds and equipment and must venture out to resupply. There have been a number of recent murders that have caused the city watch to increase their patrols around this sector of town. They should not be a problem for one such as himself.

By: Robin G. Plot Description: What that woman paid in bribes to find me had to be no small amount. She began to speak as she deposited two large and shining gems on the table. "I will give you half dozen more if you discover what has happened to my bridegroom" -she situated herself in a chair and continued- "His name is Saturio Machado. He returned barely one week ago after having fought for months in a war in the Hilldrim territories. We spent the night of his return together in my house. The following day he rose early, eager to go to his family's mansion because his mother was ill, and had been for a long time. That was the last time that I saw him. Concerned, I went to the authorities since I did not wish to face Lady Machado... she never accepted my relationship with Saturio. Much to my surprise, the cops told me that Sigfrido, the nephew of Lady Machado had informed them that according to the news received from the front, Saturio had died in combat weeks back. The authorities did not have reason to doubt his word and thus they let me know. Something has happened behind those walls Mr. Garrett. You have to help me."

By: David Riegel (Sledge) Plot Description: After Garrett steals the Spirit Stone from the hideout of the Resurrection, the Hammers, in need of all the help they can get with the Mechanists, demand it back. Likewise, the Keepers are interested in protecting it themselves, since they were the ones who told Garrett about the job in the first place. However, before Garrett gives it to either, he is interested in finding out exactly what the Spirit Stone is and what its powers are. He spends some time researching its origins, and finally learns how it was found. At the outskirts of the city, amidst some of the rocky, mountainous territory at the edges of civilization, some five years prior, the Hammers had begun to build a large power facility and smelting factory. However, in laying the foundation, they discovered a series of tunnels and caves beneath where they were planning to build. Temporarily ignoring them, they continued to build the facility, whilst sending occassional informal scouts below further and further to map and report back their findings. Eventually, some of the Hammers discovered the remnants of an ancient pagan underground church and living area. Thinking there might be relics of value, and perhaps blasphemous artifacts to destroy, the Hammers organized an official search party to go deep into the caves and return with any artifacts they could find..... Comments by Reviewer: -Pros: Considerable customization and attention to detail makes this the finest fan mission to date. -Cons: Nothing to complain about other than perhaps some players may be unnerved -- but that is the point. - Bottom Line: An outstanding mission, undead or otherwise. A must-play by anyone who can run Thief 2.

By: Mike Hopper Plot Description: Briefing (english only) : Before his encounters with Truart and Karras, as told in T2-TMA, Garrett knew well the plotting nature of these fellows. They both worked with Lord Gervasius on his archery games every year and there were whispered rumors that the games were no longer "for sport" with these two involved. But I'll let Garret explain: "Lord Gervasius is one of the wealthiest men in the world and he loves archery. For many years, he has invited the best archers in the world to travel to his Archery Games to compete for elaborate, and expensive, prizes. There is great competition to be recognized as the best archer in the world and Lord Gervasius plays this like a real showman. In recent years, this competition has grown to include many offbeat archery games and contests, and the games extend over several days. Crowds flock to these events--Lord Gervasius earns a lot wealth and influence as a result. Although it's not cheap to get in, every arena seat is always filled. More than just popular, these games are a spectacle for the fans who are drawn here. I've been and it is impressive.... (more)

By: xarax Plot Description: After escaping from the Trials of the Master Keeper, I thought that I should visit my friend Ybynwan. I wanted to learn more about Keeper technology, what Ybynwan calls, "Magic". In my line of work, "Magic" is simply misunderstood technology. I received some interesting information from Ybynwan. The town of Eldevir has a strange stone obelisk called the "Varyx Obelisk". It's quite old and is rumored to have some connection to the keepers, but nobody knows for sure.
The Varyx Obelisk may be the connection I need to learn more about my former
teachers, and maybe some profit. My conversation with Ybynwan in the town of Viowen
convinced me that there is something worthwhile here in Eldevir. After several days
traveling to Eldevir from Viowen, I learned that there is a curfew from dusk to dawn,
and the patrol guards are very unforgiving. I must be cautious on the streets.

Comments by Second Opinion Reviewer: The Varyx Obelisk, a Fan Mission by xarax, is an enjoyable mission with lots of puzzles to solve, secret passages, and nice little twists that are different from most Thief missions. In a word, it is a tricky mission. If you like puzzles, you will like this one. If you don't, then you might get a little frustrated in places.
