Diary (Replay Feature)

Explanation:

A diary area could be incorporated, which records what has gone on in previous missions and allows you to replay cutscenes. The abililty to access previous statistics, maybe even graphs or a visual replay of how you completed the mission.

Points to bear in mind:

Good PointAllows players to think back over the missions they have played as a whole, and how they did things, which will encourage them to try out different tactics.

Good PointThis feature would be nice so someone could actually prove they did something, teach someone a certain skill in a tutorial, or show a funny moment with a guard that just has to be shared.

Bad PointThat's a great idea for most games but so much of Thief is either moving very slowly or sitting perfectly still for what seems like a very long time.

Possible AlternativeCould possibly be implemented in 2d?

Good PointA diary containing information, not recorded parts of the level. Although a cutscene view might be intresting, I doubt it would be used much since their seen before ea level anyway. --- A 2-D type system would be unlikely but not impossable. A detailed map(s) would have to be created aloung with the usual level map(s), plus the x,y location would have to be recorded every so often. This is much more likely to be a User Created Modification so dont count it on being 'out of the box'.
