Groups Within the Inventory

Explanation:

After a level the inventory is usually cluttered up with 20 or so objects, which makes navigating through it difficult. Build in groups within the inventory to make navigation easier.

Points to bear in mind:

Possible AlternativeThe usual culpriuts of clutter are scrolls and keys, providing a scroll case and keyring objects would do much to reduce the clutter.

Good PointIn addition to the examples listed: lockpicks should be grouped into a pouch. While running around, the item is just 'Lockpicks'. When you right-click it, it opens up into "Square lockpick", "Triangular lockpick", "Super-bendy lockpick", etc. Auto-closing the pouch when you're done lockpicking would be very neat too, though care must be taken to make the 'auto-closing' smart enough not to close at inappropriate times.

Good PointI'd like to see an RPG-style inventory as one option, sorted into categories by tabs. I like to be able to consider all my options by looking at everything I've got with me, whether it's potions/food, scrolls, keys, bombs, or arrows. Of course the game should retain the cycling and keymapping options as well. Would be good if scrolls came with individual names too, since once in a while you might actually want to re-read one... even better would be a notebook with all written material read so far in the game, not just the current mission.
