A black short bow fashioned of a strong, flexible, light-weight metal, with a high-tension cable-wire for a bow-string, fitted with a sturdy mechanical hinge mechanism in the grip, allowing the bow to fold in half for easier portability and concealment.The folding short-bow would neither be more powerful, nor less powerful than the current one, nor would it yield any significant benefits or penalties in weight or the time required to ready it for use;

Points to bear in mind:

Its primary appeal would be in its practicality during stealth and athletic activity.

Alterantive for those who wish a more appropiate thief like weapon for Garrett but dislike the idea of a crossbow.

Just as long as Garret doesn't become dependent on a bunch of 'modified' equipment. You can save some for the next game.

Which way would it fold? Toward the string/nocking point? --> (| Impossible. Frontwards? <-- (| Even if the limbs folded around towards the front after the cable was "unstrung", the stresses placed on a hinge in the middle of the riser would destroy it. Stealth would be hindered due to the metal components. More natural materials are quieter, warmer, and readily available. Metal is unnecessary. Less moving parts = simpler = better. A recurve bow is ALREADY "collapsable".
