Grapple

Explanation:

Has to be thrown, and can hook on to anything.

Points to bear in mind:

Some would believe more realistic.

Would make levels harder to design, as the player would have more freedom in where to go. This would mean more obvious 'fencing' off.

A grapple arrow could be made instead, which still has to be fired from a bow, therefore keeping the restrictions where it could be used, but still keeping with the realism.
