Timed Noisemaker
Explanation:
Different models would have different time settings (2 min, 5 min, 10 min, etc.) When set down, the timer starts. When the timer finishes, a big noise comes out of them. A cunning thief could plan his get-away.
Points to bear in mind:
Each model could have a range of values, and the player choose the most appropiate at game time to allow more flexibility.
A similiar idea could be put in place for mines, and other such items.
Perhaps a separate 'control module' that can be afixed to any item and then allows such timing displacment.
