Runtime Shadows

Explanation:

Implement run time shadows. This would mean that all objects in the game had shadows which were dynamically calculated. This would allow you to spot AI around corners, and also for AI's to spot the player by their shadow.

Points to bear in mind:

Bad PointWould make designing, as well as playing a mission harder, and the playing boring, as most of the time would be spent shadow watching.

Good PointWould look spectacular and make the game more realistic.

Possible AlternativeDue to the change in game style, set it so that the 'odd shadow' is not to alerting to guards, unless they are of an elite, super type.

Possible AlternativeMoving shadows should alert AIs quite a lot, but static shadows may not be noticed unless they are obvious.

Point to bear in mindYes, it will be much more difficult to hide from the guards or monsters, but try to remember that movement is what will really tip someone of your presence. And if it is more realistic, I will be in favor of it, regardless of the price I'll have to pay.
