Deafened By Ambient Sounds
Explanation:
If an AI is an a loud place, a generator room, busy market place, this will interfere with their hearing abilities making it harder for them to spot that anything is amiss.
Points to bear in mind:
If the ambient noise is so loud that you cant hear your own footsteps, neither should the guards be able to.
Apparently this is already being implemented, by defining a sort of 'audio context' for a region during level design.
