Against Unfair Homing AI
Explanation:
AIs should never be able to home directly in on the player, they should use their intelligence to deduce where the player is rather than cheat unfairly.
Points to bear in mind:
Make the guards investigate the last section where they saw the player, and advanced from there in a logical fashion.
AI is run by the computer, and the computer ALWAYS knows where the player is. If it is to simulate ignorance, the virtual world of Thief would have to be impressively detailed to leave clues of Garret's passing.
It is true that guards home. Even in a pitch black room a guard will always "wander" straight at you. They should use a back and forth sweeping method or something similar.
